Regenerative farming and cabins made of straw

We are Jennie and Lawrence. Two years ago we quit our desk jobs and moved to Jennie's family farm on the Yorkshire Wolds to set up an eco tourism business and learn how to farm with nature.

We're building a handful of sustainable cabins that will be insulated using straw bales and heated using solar panels. We'll be ready for guests this year.

We're learning to farm with nature, rather than against it. That means learning about soil, microbes and how to hit machinery in the right place with a hammer.

We have a small flock of high welfare sheep. All our lambs are born and raised on our family farm, grazing diverse pastures, allowing them to develop naturally and sustainably.

We have a limited number of lamb boxes available to order now in time for Easter.

A bit more about the farm

The farm has been in Jennie's family for 4 generations. We tell people we're helping Jennie's mum and dad, Chris and Rosemary. We're not sure they would consider us "helpful" yet.

We currently have 62 sheep, 9 free range chickens, 2 long range chickens who refuse to be housed, 5 ducks, 2 young geese and one really old goose called Bruce Willis.

  • Farming

We focus on nutrition and nature. Our high welfare flock of wool shedding sheep are just part of our plan to put nutrients back into our soil and ultimately on your plate.

  • Luxury stays

Our low impact straw bale cabins are currently under construction. We're building them ourselves with some expert help from a local specialist. So don't expect them in a hurry.

  • Community

We love how peaceful it is on the farm. But we love people too. So we're looking to help passionate people who share our vision to start or grow their businesses. Market garden anyone?
